The good news is that the lead keels are “J” bolted to the keel stub with 5/8″ bronze threaded rods and then all glued up with polyester resin. The keel won’t fall off even without nuts on the bolts.

Participanti ask this because my survey mention it could be a big problem . i didnt think the 424 had keel bolts. i did find a discussion about it and they claim that there are bronze j bolts 5/8 in diameter ?? just would like to know . is the encapsulation strong enough ?? can it be renforced? just a newby
