    Hi
Our 424 is on the market in St Petersburg   FL for $69000.   We had a contract and have the survey results.  We have addressed all the minor items found on the survey.   The buyer was in his 70s and decided on a newer boat.

We use an Apple ipad on Bel Esprit. We bought some great charts from the App Store.

We will soon be the new owners of Blue Moon and bringing her home to Fort Walton Beach. I would like to buy a tablet to use as backup navigation. I prefer the Android over the Apple. The primary requirement that it have true GPS so it will work in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. Anyone currently using a tablet for offshore navigation?

We have done the Isla Mujeres race 15 times.  We have the original size on Bel Esprit II.  By the way, I am looking for a new captain.

Could one of you folks who have a mizzen staysail please take luff,

On HiFlite we put the 150 in storage and just use the 135.  Our local
sailmaker said not to try cutting sown the 150, he didn’t think we
would be happy with it.  Our mizzen staysail was embarassing to use
(pink, orange, lime green and blue) until I got a picture of what it
looks like from a distance.  We love it and it turn a lot of heads as
we sail on.  We enjoy calling out the order “Hoist the mizzen staysail.”

Thanks for all of the help!  Seems like the majority of you like the

Never thought of cutting the 155 down to get a smaller sail, great
idea! Wondering if Shay or anyone else has done the Isla Mujueres
race, and what was needed.  My current sail is in ok condition, but
has lost it’s shape and doesn’t point as well. Also have a roller
furling main, and understand some loss of some sail area.  I do use
my mizzen staysail at times as Tor described, but I sure could have
used that great diagram and pics years ago!

I used flat based Garhauer blocks.  I cut some cheek block pads out of starboard with a band saw to conform to the angle of the boom.  I used heavy sodering wire to get the pattern of the boom and then traced it on the edge of the starboard.  I then used fine thread machine screws to attach and the holes were tapped out first.  As attaching I applied anti-sieze to the hole to cut down on the corrosion

between the stainless and the alum.

    Good luck

Let us know when you will be arriving.  We have Bel Esprit II at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina which is right in front of the show. We will be on the boat that weekend.  Maybe we can get together for a cold one.

Be careful about travel to Cuba.  Ted sailed to Cuba several times when it was still legal.  However, a friend of ours almost lost his Morgan 46 to Customs after returning from Cuba.  He ended up keeping the boat but had a $10,000 fine.

If anyone gets down to the Tampa/St. Petersburg area let us know. We have Belesprit at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina. We will be racing in the Regata del Sol al Sol to Isla Mujeres, Mexico again for the 19 time in April.

    Thanks Bob,

When I checked my email this morning, I had dozens of returned emails that yahoo did not deliver.  They have obviously shut down my email so that others do not get the virus.

    Thanks for letting me know.
