Please post a few pictures when you make some progress. I am interested in the beams at the end of the settees and how you plan to integrate these with the existing woodwork. Thanks also for all the work you have done on the website.

Some where on the old site somewhere there was writeup about an owner that had put a drain in the swamp area between the existing scuppers. He had epoxied in a nipple under the deck after taking out the core. Then he cut a hole through the deck skin in the middle of the nipple.

Could you tell where you installed and how you designed your home made water maker. I am glad to hear Tor’s opinion on this. I often hear that the water maker is just too power hungry to be practical
Do you have a link if you found the plan online?
Thanks

That is part of the problem. It is an outboard motor the cables are probably 4 ga I will be adding 10 feet of cable that I was planning to use 00 gauge left from Sumocean’s rewire. I was hoping to put lugs on the end and use a buss bar to connect the two different size wires. I can’t find a watertight solutionLinus

ParticipantI have been waiting to ask this question of this group and Rich just gave me the opportunity. I have a center console boat that has the batteries located in the bilge. I have not liked this arrangement since the beginning and I am going to move them to the console. If I install a buss bar for each cable and they are submerged will they short out just like the battery? I guess the alternative would be butt connectors and heat shrink tubing.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.Linus

Sliding storage trays and shelves including for batteries are popular with the RV crowd. Try Google. Only problem might be finding one that will stand up to the marine environment.

Could you post pics with the vent and fan included. This seems like a no brainer to me but my wife may need some convincing.

I have the old one from my W60 at home I think. It is old but was fine when removed. I would be glad to send it to you if want to give it a try. I installed a Vetus with the new Cummins. I also added a gooseneck from Vetus in the lazerette.
Just let me know if you want it and where to send it.Linus

ParticipantI have been wanting to get one of the Sony submersible tablets. Not that much more expensive and waterproof out of the box. Just seems to make sense to me. However I don’t have one yet, just want one.
Does have any experience with one of these units.

ParticipantKen my biggest problem is the bottom of the basket completely fell off. I will have to look closer but I think it is beyond repair ( not much metal left ). I am looking for a replacement part but the unit is old as I am away from the boat I will have to remove it to see if I can find the numbers on it. It looks just like yours. So maybe after I clean it up it will prove serviceable.
Thanks

ParticipantI also just replaced the bronze shaft this spring. The shaft was pitted so the new shaft seal would have leaked. Everyone in the yard said they had not seen a bronze shaft in years. The new one is stainless. After the discussion here I wonder what kind of stainless it may be.

ParticipantYears ago I contacted the company directly asking about knobs. The rep asked for my address and I asked if he needed a credit card and he said no.
Got shiny new knobs about a week later. Worth a try again I’d sayLinus
