ParticipantTor,
I’ve seen that diy mod as well. There is also an adapter plate that can be bought which mounts under the carb to let you use gas, lpg, and or cng with out modifiing the carb http://www.propane-generators.com/adapter_installation.htm
I have also seen a site that has this mod as a diy.And thanks for the additional pics.

ParticipantTor,
Thanks for the Pics. It looks like it could work well.
Any thing that you would change on the set up if you were stating from scratch? As for the fuel consumtion rate for propane vs. gas, I’m not sure.
I haven’t found any info on the generator consumtion rate differance, yet.
However in automobile conversions the mileage is reproted as just about the same.
I’m still very much in the research phase of this idea. The parts of the conversion that apeal to me are the larger capacity of the propane tank, the safer storage of fuel, the reported increase in engine life, the lower emisions from propane, and the ability to use LPG,CNG,or GAS.Scott

ParticipantHi Tor,
I’m wondering if you have any Pics of the locker between your mizzin and pedistal? I’m thinking of doing the same thing and also running an eu2000i on propane.
Any thoughts on that one?

ParticipantThanks Bob.
Tor, I have been dragging my feet about the move to the bay and the boat, I kind of wanted to be on the boat “realy doing it” before I talked to much about it.
I’m at that point, the lease on my appartment in Stockton CA (the worst city in US according to some GOOD reports) is up in 3 weeks.Bill, You saw my boat in Alameda? I had her there getting a Dodger and Bimini at Pacific Coast Canvas, That sound about right.
I was and am Happy about what I’ve spent so far. I think I may have spent a bit much on the canvas ($7000) but it was a whole new thing, frame made of solid gold, platinum canvas, CA you know. 😀
That was the bigest expence so far.
I bought her from the original owner who used her as a floating hotel room when he came down to the bay from Sac. She was at the same birth for 29 years and I was told that he sailed her once every 5 years or so. Which I belive based on her exelent condition, the log book I found on board, and the 216 (yes 216) original hours on the W60.
The PO had her maintained at KKMI often I have all the records. When I had her inspected no blisters, 4 year old rigging (running and standing) repainted masts and new miz and jib at same time.
Serveyed value 75000 1-30-08. 😀So yes Bill, It would be great to get togeather some time, I’m in Emeryville (or will be soon).
We’ll have to do the email thing and arange some thing, Oh by the way I am in Alameda a fare amount I have been going to Club Nautique taking lessons and teaching a bit for a couple of years. -
