Garhauer will make you exact duplicates of your stantion bases for a very fair price.

Some of the state ports of entry (aka first weigh station) have laser measurement systems the trucks drive through. There is a web site that has all the rules for each state. (For example no chase or escort required in Colorado but some roads not allowed at certain times and days). I believe that was in my article “Driver, Move that Boat!”. You can find reprint at dublerfamily.com on the boat page

Our 424 made it from Colorado to Fl as a 13′ width. Escort car rules vary by state.

Tom Wagner is who I used to bring the boat back to Fla. He lives in Fla but my delivery was supposedly his last great ride. He probably still does local work. Here is his number
    (321) 689-3431. Send my regards.

I second that and stole Tor’s idea and another group members to eliminate the one piece dog house and that lift off engine lid. Away from boat now but will send pictures letter this week.

I found a “spare” one on my boat which had a bit of surface rust and a frozen link. I cleaned it in WD-40brand rust remover (which I love, especially for tools). I used my chain tool to try to loosen the frozen link and two plates of the chain cracked, more like crumbled as they were full of rust. Such is the life of stainless.

If you are going far and wide, diesel would be much more convenient as it is easy to find and you won’t have to haul tanks to have them filled. Also the amount of power generated from a given volume of diesel vs propane will be a lot more if I am not mistaken.

Must be different ones than the ones I have. Mine run freely.

Carried over a pair of Garhauer Genoa blocks from prior boat, a Pearson 36. Wonderful gear. However the sheet lead on the 424 was too angled from the track for the car to work properly. Suggest you try before you buy.

All Garhauer with their adjustable genoa sheet cars. Great stuff.

I second that! in spades… but the delight now of sailing her is
priceless not to mention the compliments of passersby in the marina.
(you can see my restoration articles here: http://www.dublerfamily.com)

By the way, when you put the boat in stands, be sure you understand
where there is and is not support in the keel. Blocking at the back of
the keel will crack the hull. There is plenty of discussion on this in
the archives of the Pearson 424 group.

    Good luck,

Shucks Dave… I donated a full set to the Boy Scouts. Right here on
the Space Coast. Are you going to keep it somewhere other than a yard
(which would have stands)? Sorry but I don’t remember the size specs.

Thanks, John. I agree I should be able to trust

cruising. Really crappy metal. I think I bought them at
    Home Depot.
