Here is a link to the V-drive alignment procedure if that helps.

    Hi Walter,

A few years ago I took all of the rigging off of my Seasprite 34 and took it to a rigging shop in Fairhaven and asked them to re-create it, which they did for like $1,400, which I thought was a pretty good price. So, if the mast is out of the boat that could be one approach.
Also, do you have any interest in selling your spare mast pulpit or are you hanging on to it?
    Thanks, Ben

Just FYI my thruster is aft of the forward water tank and seems to work just fine.

    David,

Papaya has a bow thruster but I don't have before and after experience. I'm guessing the 20 inch fixed prop is worse though.
    Good luck. Ben

    Hi Rob,

The design was emailed around a while ago – I have taken the liberty to attach it here.
If we are not yet committed to the vendor in CA a competing bid might be interesting if you have connections to a fabricator.
Yours is the first email I have received in a while from the forum, so I don't know if there has been additional discussion or progress on ordering from CA.
    Thanks, Ben (Papaya #81)

    Paul,

Thanks for following up – I have not been getting any of these emails until last night so not sure what is up there. Anyway, I am still interested in the mast pulpits so please keep me on the list.

    Thanks, Ben Frothingham

Paul – sounds like you are in contact with Railmakers. I will step back unless I hear otherwise. Thanks, Ben

    All,

I called Railmakers today and left a message for Dave, who I was directed to by the receptionist. I will let you know what I find out from him on updated pricing, schedule, etc.
I don't want to step on any toes so if someone was hoping to lead the charge please let me know and I will relinquish the communications.
    Thanks, Ben (Papaya # 81)

Sounds good – I am happy to help if needed. Here is a link to Tor's photo of one installed.   http://www.tor.cc/articles/c-tip_17.htm

I might also be interested but I think the pricing in Tors excellent description was from 2008. So, has anyone reached out about current prices?

I know this is an old thread, but I’m a recent owner of hull #81 (Papaya) and have been trying to get the v drive sorted out. The cooling passage was mostly clogged up with rust (I think thats what all that black crap is) causing the engine to run hot (Yanmar 75 hp Turbo 4JH3-TE). a yard cleaned it out and restored flow so cooling problem solved. after that I noticed the oil getting emulsified, milky from water contamination. I had been checking the oil regularly before the clean out and it was staying clean. Today I took the cover off the top to get a look at the cooling jacket (to see if the yard poked a hole in it) and it occurred to me that the gasket for the top cover provides another potential route for water to get into the oil. So, my current plan is to marine-tex the inside of the cooling chamber and replace the gasket – maybe that will do it. I also suspect the yard may have let water dribble down the dipstick tube when they took the cover off – maybe. Anyway, in looking over the manual I see that Walter recommends the following:
    RECOMMENDED OILS:
SAE 30 Heavy Duty Motor Oil
    Exxon Spartan EP-68 Gear Oil
    APG-80 Gear Oil
They also recommend molybdenum disulphide additive. So, if I end up disconnecting the cooling as others have done, I wonder which of these oils would provide the coolest running temp?? Any thoughts on that?
    Thanks, Ben…

I too am disgusted by the insurance racket – almost as disgusting as the excise/use/sales tax racket….however, the only time in 40 years that I used my insurance, when my old Bristol 22 ended up on the rocks in 1991 during Hurricane Bob, Boat U.S. Insurance could not have been more reasonable, quick, and fair in settlement – just sayin…

    Ryan,
    Great site, great idea.
I noticed when I went to the link for the C&C 27 and opened a photo it only brought up one at a time and getting back to full list was cumbersome if I opened more than one. Not sure if that was because I am using an iPad but being able to scroll through photos when you open one would be good. Anyway, nice work.
