All,
We continue to make progress with the website at dev.pearson424.org.
The dev team has set up the mailing software and we’re now able to post to the forums via email. I encourage you to register on the site at Dev.Pearson424.org
All the content will be wiped away before we migrate the existing site content, so this is just for test purposes!
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I had a hard time coming up with a password too. Needs to be at least
“medium”. I finally got one but sure as hell had to write it down to
remember.

I was able to register but wouldn’t you know it, I miss typed my user name. Is there a way to change it? I’m registered as Widward Star, in should be Windward Star.
Thanks for building the new site.

Ewan,
The photo at Dev.Pearson424.org just beneath “The Plan for this Site” is uncommonly appealing – even if it is only half a hull. Wonder where that was taken, anyway…
I enjoy our P424 email exchanges and would like to continue participating, as I always have, via these emails. Do I have to re-register just to continue being part of the email forum?
Of course, I’m also looking forward to seeing the new website unfold, and towards that end I just tried to register there. However, the resident Password Nazi keeps saying my password is “weak.” Weak? MY password? It features upper case and lower case letters, numbers, and an “@” smack in the middle of it. It has been tough enough for the most demanding websites I use including banks, credit cards, domain hosts and all the most discerning porn sites. How come it’s not good enough for our sailboat forum? Who are we working so hard to keep out?
Just wondering.

I’ve registered but can’t log in. I do my name and password in the box then
the box comes back with something like CATCHA protection add this password
###### and then the sum of 18 + 6 or something. That didn’t work. What do
I do? It’s just a boat site not bank account. I sure hope when all is said
and done and I can get in, there is a “REMEMBER MY PASSWORD” and a stay
logged in option.

I totally agree Tor- I also tried passwords that were way beyond what my bank, credit cards, and financial require and this website calls them weak. This doesn;t make sense for a sailboat forum.Post generated from Pearson424 Forum using Mail2Forum

Whew, for a moment there I thought you were about to reveal your Master Plan having something to do with “the most discerning porn sites” I joked about yesterday. Then again, when you think about the cruising fund possibilities…
OK, back on Planet Earth, thanks for easing up on the password requirements. I was running out of variations. Will give it another shot after a while. As for the email side of the forum that I prefer using, do I or don’t I have to re-register to keep my address on the authorized-to-send/receive list? In case that happens via general@pearson424(dot)org, I’ll Cc this email there.
Thanks again for all this brilliant work, Ewan. Hope to see you in the Bahamas soon – with or without the stuffed bank account.

Thanks Ewan, I can’t imagine what it takes to make all this work for the
simpleminded like myself. But, I believe. I will hang on. I will endure.
Just like a tough passage.

Your username has now been changed to Windward Star.
All, I’ve simplified the registration process a little – passwords should be easier when you sign up. Please check and let me know!
Thanks to Skip and Roger for contributing to help fund the site.

It likes tilda (~) but not bang (!)
Go figure.
Tilda, cap letter, 3 lower case, no numbers. That will work.On Sun, Nov 22, 2015 at 11:41 AM, aphil138— via maillist <
