ParticipantAny ideas on where I can obtain washers for a banjo connection from the pump to the injector line? There seems to be a small drip leak occurring from this point, and I am interested if anyone has had the same issue on a westerbeke 60. Blue Pelican [hull# 122] is currently in Brunswick, GA.

Where does one look to find the owner of a documented vessel? I know the boat’s
name but not the owner’ name.Lee

ParticipantThe little copper washers are common to most diesel engines. You can stop in at a diesel truck repair shop and get them. Look for a place that rebuilds injectors and pumps. I get my injectors (W58) rebuilt at a farm machinery shop.
You also might have some luck in the mean time with taking the washer out and using some light sandpaper, 400 or 600 wet&dry and polishing them to take the little scores and ridges off. Make sure you clean them well before putting it back together.

ParticipantThanks Allan.
I obtained some washers from a diesel parts supplier. Turned out to be slightly out in size, so got a mechanic onboard, and he sorted it out from a pack of mixed washers that he once bought from NAPA for less than $20.
He also used a can of engine starter [ether] to spray around the parts as a method of cleaning the area. Nice touch I thought.
Problem solved. But we were definitely on the right track, so some vindication there.
I wanted to get back to you to let you know what transpired, and thank you for your help
