      Good Morning or Afternoon or Evening,

      I need to replace my stuffing box material while the boat is in the water. To minimize trouble, I’d like to have the new stuffing box material on hand and cut prior to relaxing the torque on the adjustment nut. But I don’t know what size packing flux to have on hand. I suspect 3/16″ or 1/4″. Anyone know?

      Packing material replacement went well. The 1/4″ packing was the correct size. Looking forward to a drier bilge…

      Hi David – do you know if 1/4″ works on the rudder stuffing box as well? Also, how many layers? Did you stagger the cuts? Thanks
