  Trying to find a good place to mount the solid state compass for the boats new under deck autopilot setup. The manual has enough conflicting requirements that there is no ideal location so just curious where other people have successfully mounted it.

  We put ours in the floor of the v bearth there is a small hatch access we had the same issues with metal magnetic… it works well there and has for several years. We have a raymaine
