doing the cutlass bearing this year, so figured I might as well do the hose as well. Can anyone tell me the diameter of that hose? I think it is 2 5/8 ro 2 3/4, but I cant tell for sure with the shaft log and hose in place. Also, can anyone recommend a source for this extremely thick walled hose?

      Thanks.

      Hi,

Replaced the hose on my shaft log. Sure it was the original and seemed like the prudent thing to do since failure could be a boat sinker.

Research indicates Buck Algonquin is the brand to buy. Will dig through my notes to find the size.

Not sure if their is a difference between models but I have a 1 1/2″ bronze prop shaft. Assume yours is the same?

By the way, this is a super strong, chemical resistant hose that is the right stuff for the application. Wouldn’t use just any reinforced hose….. just in case.

thanks for that refresher! Buck Alg is the gold standard for that
application. and yes, all shaft sizes are 1 1/2″.
awaiting hose inside diameter if you can find it.
