As some may be aware, I’m dumping the old W58 and going electric (so is Ewan). I’m now in the process of removing the V-drive. Although I have an exploded parts diagram for the RV 20, I’m at a loss as to how the shafts are disconnected. I’ve removed the unit mount bolts and the bolts on the shafts. Thought I’d ask before I reach for the hammer. Do they just pull out? Now what?

I would like some details for your new electric system.  Could you direct me to some details, or a website?

The input shaft just pulls out.  The output shaft unbolts at the coupling.

Thanks Rich.  I always like to look before I leap.

Aloha Earl:  I reviewed several systems before making my selection.  I chose the Thoosa 12000 system because of their 7 year warranty and the fact that they have a rep here on Mau’i (I’m in Honolulu) that will do the sea trial and help with the conversion.
