I spent most of yesterday in the bilge and I have to share how delighted
I am with a little improvement I made there a few weeks ago: a 3″
step. What I did was to create a sump in the bilge by adding a three
inch high step in the forward part of the bilge. This was made from
some structural foam I had left over and fiberglass cloth. What is so
great about this is that when standing (if you call it that) in the
bilge, this step is plenty large enough to move around on and my feet
stay dry. I also installed a new Whale Supersub Smart 650 pump which
has its own sensor and leaves very little water in the sump.Sometimes it is the little things that delight the most.
