ParticipantHas anyone changed the masthead halyard sheeves on their ketch 424?
If so do you have the specs?
Does anyone have photos of the masthead showing the sheeve set-up?Main sail drops only half way down. I will clean the track, change the running rigging and change the sheeves.
Cleaning the track is a must and it’s time to upgrade all the running rigging.
If I do the job I might as well go all the way and upgrade the sheeves. Thanks for any help you can pass along.

ParticipantFigie,
If you do get the specification on those sheaves please send along a copy..
I would like to change out my wire to rope halyards to all rope and would need to change out the sheaves when doing that..
Thanks..

ParticipantI did the same, switching from wire, I ordered from https://www.zephyrwerks.com/
They have the specs for the 424 I think. If not let me know and I will go to the boat and look for the invoice.

To: figie47@gmail.comSo now that I sent that message I, of course, found the notes on the sheaves.
4 Main sheaves –
Diameter: 4.75”
Axle: 5/8”
Width: 5/8”
We reused the existing axle as it was in good shape. Doris is a fresh water boat.2 Mizzen sheaves –
Axle: 3/8”
Width: 1/2”
Can’t find the diameter measurementAttached are pictures of our notes page. These notes are from Spring 2004.

We purchased 6 sheaves from Zephrwerks
(https://www.zephyrwerks.com/) in Port Townsend WA in ~ 2006.We opted for all rope delrin sheaves. We’ve been very happy with them.
I can’t find the invoice right now but we should have the specs on the boat. We’ll look tomorrow.
