Has anyone seen the anchoring videos this guy publishes on his You Tube channel? He has a unique go pro camera arrangement where he videos the setting and resetting of various makes of anchors with different scope.
The Manson Supreme (I have a 60 lb MS on Eclipse) set well every time but wasn’t so good with resetting. He made several modifications trying to improve the reset without success… until he drilled holes in the fluke. Apparently the amount of seabed that attaches itself to the anchor was impeding reset. The holes facilitate a natural release of seabed allowing the anchor to reset as well as it sets originally.
I can attest to the amount of seabed that comes up with this anchor. Additionally, it is usually really stuck to the anchor.
I’m seriously thinking about drilling holes in the anchor.
Has anyone else already done this with success?
