It seems every year there are fewer and fewer options for insuring a U.S. flagged vessel while outside of the U.S., and the list gets even shorter if you only want liability coverage. Has anyone out there had any luck lately finding a policy that is:
- For a U.S. flagged vessel
- Outside the US
- Liability-only (a.k.a. 3rd party coverage)
The Gowrie Group (formerly IMIS) won’t do it anymore, Pantaenius claims they aren’t writing new policies for US boats, and I’ve gotten a hard No from a half dozen other smaller agent/brokers.
