Hey Ewan, whatever happened to the registry / hull # list? I’m sure it’s not a popular feature but it can be useful when trying to find info re: sister ships. Got to thinking about it this morning and I can’t find it anywhere on the site…could be I’m blind.

      Thanks,
      Evan

That’s it. Thanks Patrick. But is there a link somewhere to make it easy for everyone to find? Again, I might be missing it.
To Paul’s question: I think we should keep it updated, but I’m not the one on the hook. (I guess the right thing for me to do here would be to volunteer to take that on…ha)

A member list is the basic document for any group.  This list has to be at least 8 years old as it still lists the PO for my boat.  We should update it.

Quick update on the hull registry –

“Thisisit” Hull #81 became “Quarter After” out of Oriental, NC and was purchased by me in August 2016 and is now “Papaya” hailing from Woods Hole, MA. She is currently on the hard in Cambridge, MD. Nice to join the group and learn more about her. Love the boat so far (photo attached to email – not sure if that works). Cheers.

That appears to be a very old list. My boat is not listed by me or my PO. It would be great to have an updated list that would tell us how many of these grand old ladies are still sailing. That speaks a lot for the brand. I would also find it interesting to know how many of the old W60’s and 58’s are still operating, and who has re powered and to what

Definitely an older list â€¦ my boat is listed 2x previous owners and name.

Hull #107 is now “Talisman”, hailing port Ventura, CA

I’m also fairly certain that Pat N. has the last updated list (or passed it on to Ewan).
I’ll see if I can’t track it down and take on the task of reworking it since I’m laid up currently after shoulder surgery…if that’s OK with site admin, of course.
Let’s hold off on listing our updates here until such time as we figure out what info we want to gather/maintain.

      Cheers!

Thanks Evan – its totally OK and really appreciated. I am open to others in the community stepping forward to take this on.
Going forward, there are a number of fields in the user profile that should be up to date. One thought is that we communicate to everyone to make sure their details are updated, and then build a page from there manually?
Another option is to talk with our developer Yumna to see if she can get our database fields displaying on a form as a list. Then whenever we change our profile, we’re dynamically generating the list.
If we can all engage, it would be great 🙂

The start of an owner spreadsheet with the following data would be great:
      -hull#
      -name
      -rig
      -owner
      -owner email
      -home port
      -date purchased
      -power plant
I’d be happy to help, though I’m somewhat of a techie Neanderthal.

This is current info for 125 which used to be TiltnHilton in Sandusky Ohio. I think it could also be interesting if the previous owner information is available and could be displayed.

      Thanks,

Hull #32 is still in Illinois.  How crazy is that? We hope to take Peregrine south to Florida next summer.  Unless we decide to sell her.  Janie Ashworth

Thanks to those that have sent their info already, it’s a great start! I’m sure there’s some extra data we haven’t been capturing (registry # in your home country, current engine, etc.), so we’ll hash that out over then next day or two and start a new post with the requested data fields (thanks for volunteering to help, Dan…you’re on the hook now LOL)
Pat Noordsij has provided me with a data file with the most current info she had and it’s a GREAT starting point. Thanks Pat!

      Ewan,
I’ll get with you offline about ideas re: integration into the website. I think we can keep this fairly simple, yet robust.

      Cheers,

Janie, we’ll be there all day Friday (and possibly Thursday). We missed last year, but have made it a 3 day weekend in the past. Work’s getting in the way this year, but we HAVE to get up there to talk to some vendors.
We’d love to meet other 42x owners!

Thanks.  I have a feeling we would go earlier in the week this year, but not certain yet.  It is less crowded Tuesday through Thursday, and some good seminars on those days I would like to attend.
This is a great group.  I love reading all the valuable information.

Let me know the fields, and I’ll work with Yumna to add them to the database. Perhaps what we should do is publish what we have on a page, and then ask everyone to update in their profiles.
It’s exciting to see everyone step forward and volunteer to get this going. Evan, do you need admin rights on the site? Happy to give them to you!

Great show, but I’m stuck here on my boat in Honolulu for another 3 weeks.    Though that cold weather would be a challenge (topping out at 80 every day here).

I spent one winter in the Great Lakes (2010) and as soon as it thawed out we headed back south. I learned that it is expensive to pull, wrap and winterize a boat every year. Plus, you can’t sail when the water is hard and if you fall in the water you die. You yanks are more hardy than I. One advantage to pulling the boat every year is that you get to check out what’s going on with the bottom of the boat. In the south we may not do that for a few years, and sometimes bad things happen down under that we don’t know about until it becomes serious.

Wow, it is an old list – at least 10 years.  I purchased Pelicano in 2007, hull #8, renamed her to Pelican, out of City Island, NY berthed in Stamford CT for now.

1978 stay sail ketch (or cutter ketch), 'L' galley.

      Hope that helps.

      Hi Pearsonites
“MOJO” is a 1981 Ketch hull number 184. Normally docked in Oriental, NC but
spending the winter months in Beaufort, NC for a change of scenery. I bought her
in Brunswick, Ga. about 10 years ago she was named “ICON” when I bought her.
      Great work with the site!

Ok. I’m on a cruise for 8 more months. If no one has done the registry I’ll do it using my vast database driven web site experience.

I just passed Time in a Bottle in Little River SC and am wondering who she belongs to.

What say you one and all?

It’s done. It’s been done. And I continue to update it.
We just need to get it on the web. My apologies for not making it more of a priority; you’re right that you should be able to pull it up when you encounter another 424. I’ll make sure it gets done soonest.

      In the meantime:
Time In A Bottle, 1980 Ketch, Hull #112, owned by Joe Shimkonis (last we knew…entry not updated in the year I’ve been the keeper), USCG #1041078, Home Port: Oriental, NC
