      Installing new Lewmar Ocean series deck hatches. I have the hatches but have not been out to the boat yet to see how the old Bomars are attached.
      Wood or sheet metal screws? Are they through bolted?
      The install instructions from Lewmar suggests through bolting.
      Anyone have any experiences with this?

      Alan,

      I’ll look again when I get to the boat this morning, but I’m almost positive they’re wood screws. Definitely not through bolted!
      I haven’t replaced or rebedded ours…they don’t leak and I don’t mind if they’re ugly. 🙂

      On my 424, the deck around the hatches is plywood cored. There are stainless screws holding the hatches and it’s bedded with silicone sealant. Removing the old hatch takes about an hour.
