ParticipantEwan, any idea yet about when youll have someone fetch the tank & hooka rig? And is this a good email address to use for you or should I use another? Forgot to ask the other day.

KeymasterHi everyone,
I wanted to give you all an update on the site and where we are with the development work, and also an update on the funds spent and what is next.
Firstly, I’d like to apologize for the big emails snafu’s that have occurred with attachments. These should be in a better state now, as we’ve limited the size of attachments to 10MB and if you send/post a larger batch, the file is replaced by a link to a place on the site where the photo is stored. This should help address the challenges we’ve had.
Secondly, we’re trying to stabilize what we have in the site right now, waiting for the development of the last piece of functionality that will really round out what you’re all looking for – the ability to receive digests instead of lots of emails daily. I’m not sure how long this feature is going to take to implement, but it is definitely on its way.
Lastly, on funds. We’ve received about $685 of the $1400 we need to support the site, from 19 people, of the 66 who have logged in to the site. At present, I am on the hook for the balance, so to those of you who have contributed, thank you very much!
Fair winds!
Ewan

ParticipantEwan,
Please remind us again what email address to credit on PayPal in order to contribute to the fund. I’m game for another contribution, and I’m sure all 47 of our yet-to-pitch-in members are anxious to join in, as well.
Thanks,
Tor

ParticipantHit the PayPal button on the site – that makes it easy to keep track of.

KeymasterHi Everyone!
23 people have contributed $895(excluding two checks I’ve been promised) to the site, of the $1500 spent to date. 65 people out of 185 have logged on and used resources!
I’m so grateful to have helped get this going. We’ve managed to resolve most of the critical issues and all we’re hassling with are some formatting issues at this point.
If you’re needing any additional changes to improve your experience of the site, please let me know.
If you’re inclined to help with any of the expenses (and its not mandatory, but certainly appreciated), please use the PayPal link at the top.
I’m excited to bring the gallery and content to the new site next.
Ewan

ParticipantI’d also like to express my appreciation to the other 22 Pearson 424 owners who have chipped in so that we can have this excellent forum. Obviously you all value your boats and this exchange as much as I do.
As for you 42 freeloaders who seem to think it’s OK to benefit from the labor and largesse of others while contributing nothing yourselves, I’d say you have missed the proverbial boat here. You know who you are. (Come to think of it, Ewan knows who you are, too! Would a published “Donor and Idler” list be too politically incorrect? Seems like perfectly commendable ‘full disclosure’ to me, and it might ferret a few lurkers out of the dark shadows. It certainly would help me and others here know when we want to spend our time helping an individual and when we’re just too busy to bother. What do you think? Can I get an Amen?)
Ewan, as always, thank you.

ParticipantI apologize for being a freeloader, maybe I should just leave the site until I can afford to contribute. Unfortunately since quitting our jobs, buying the boat, moving the boat, and now being a one income household, finances are tight. Literally surviving on PB&J’s and beans. It has been, and continues to be a major life change and sacrifice to make this happen but we’re both very happy living on the boat. Someday we’ll be able to splurge on a six pack and have a toast to our good fortune. On second thought, I’ll probably contribute that $5 to the site to get my name off the freeloader list. I do appreciate all of the great info.

ParticipantThanks Tor (and everyone!)I’m really interested in everyone’s experiences with on-demand hot water. Since I am switching to electric from diesel, I won’t have a heat exchanger to heat my water.Lets switch that to the General forum.Ewan -
